Headway Hertfordshire - supporting people affected by brain injury

Home Visits

Once Headway Hertfordshire has been contacted by a person with brain injury or one of their family or friends, or has had someone with brain injury referred to them by a hospital, GP or social services, a home visit is made by one of Headway Hertfordshire's local support coordinators.

The purpose of their visit is to get to know the client and his or her carers, where this is relevant, and to make an initial assessment of the client's and/or carer's needs. Our support coordinators work with their clients to tackle any difficulties they may have, for example; money management, independent travel, social integration, relationship building, parenting, personal safety, daily living tasks, threat of homelessness and confidence building.

Phil Good has been supported by Headway Hertfordshire for over 15 years, listen to his story.
